Long time but I have 3...

Since the escapades of last year, I almost forgot that I had one of these blogs, I've made 3 music videos... That's my flavour in the world of filmmaking, I'm a music video director man.

The first of my videos was 'Tor Nagni' for Des-C, the main focus of the song was the dance routine and Des-C's dynamite energy in front of the camera. Away from the typical club video and 'uncles dancing in car parks with their nieces' I wanted to created 3:30 mins of hot with studio slick style.

My second video was for the D-Boy, the producer of Hard Kaur's 'Look for Me' and now 'Tu Bataja' (You Tell Me?) feat. Des-C unique vocals. 'Tu Bataja' is D-Boy's take on a Hindi/Urdu language song penned by a Punjabi artist with R&B production sensibilities and a sprinkling of Ghazal style. D-Boy says: "Tu Bataja has to be one of the strongest tracks on the album. I began sketching musical ideas for the track and Des-C had great ideas for a story about forgiving person who has been unfaithful and the pain involved in the process." I came into the equation when I paid D-Boy a visit at his studios in Souf Landan, only a few hours earlier Des-C had finished laying the vocals. D-Boy played a rough version and I stated to him there and then, that if a video is to be made for this track it has to be made by me. The most challenging aspect for me was the incorporation of the producer-artist (as it's a D-Boy track) into the video as more than just a cameo... The subtext is that D-Boy is the 'Other Man' in the broken love between Des-C and Maysoon...

Bobby Friction (Radio 1/Asian Network) picked up this vid and blogged it, thanks for the big up Bobby!

Now there's some interest in my work, next up was 'Rush' for Veronica. From the Rishi Rich camp of British-Asian music production, this was light electro RnB- what appealed to me was the sound that Rishi had produced. The task was to create Veronica a video different from her others. Here's the outcome.
